Greater London Authority - London Development Database intranet design project overview

Interface design and architecture created to organise a database technology that the GLA had previously developed, but was considered to be unusable.

What happened:

Partnering the Creative Database Projects, we secured the contract to design and build a GIS system using Ordnance Survey's Mastermap.

Navig8 undertook all architectural, graphical and branding aspects of the user interface. Creating a flexible, intuitive and engaging site to clearly provide access to London's Biodiversity sites.

Why it was good:

We worked as a seamless team. We are in constant communication to ensure that each hand knows what the other hand's doing at all times. We don't bother the client with the technicalities, we get on and do it.

When it was finished:

This is the most informative website for London's Biodiversity. London is surprisingly green with a wealth of wildlife. The website has information for each site, wildlife and habitat, scalable maps, access to journey planner and was backed up by an extensive advertising campaign. All searchable and viewable as a OS map or aerial photograph.

Then we did it again for the London Development Database, a site that shows every proposed, in progress and approved planning application in London.

The LDD site is not available to the public.
